In the heavyweight 2290 there is room for maneuver for certain vehicles in terms of the Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax. This is often due to the fact that vehicles are not generally intended for travel on public highways or are lightly used, such as farm tractors that work only on private land or vehicles that operate far into the wilderness. If your chosen vehicle belongs to this class, there will be no necessity to file Form 2290, and consequently, the HVUT will not apply to the vehicle. However, it is essential to check whether your vehicle is definitely eligible for this exemption so that you do not experience any trouble with the IRS.
